Mastering Martial Arts Ep.14: The Cost of Martial Arts Training

One of the most common questions I get asked is “How much do your classes cost?” And that’s a great question to ask. After all, you need to know if you can afford classes long-term.

I’ve seen martial arts classes in Plymouth range from £3 per class all the way up to £200 per month. When I first started training 18 years ago I use to train four times per week and it cost me £56 per month.

And, honestly, the price of training martial arts hasn’t changed all that much. A decent martial arts academy will still cost you between £55 – £75 per month.

The problem is the price of a class doesn’t tell you anything about the academy, the instructors, or the service you’ll get. These factors (and a few others) should be taken into consideration before you make your decision.

After all, not all martial arts academies are created equal.

In episode 14 of Mastering Martial Arts, I cover everything you need to know about the cost of training martial arts and how to choose the right academy for you.

Mastering Martial Arts Ep.14

Key Points:

– You have to be able to afford the classes long term
– Not all martial arts academies are created equal.
– Consider the time cost as well as financial cost
– The best way to decide on an Academy is to try a free class
– Always ensure the instructor / academy has necessary qualifications and insurances

Ultimately, the best way to find out if a martial arts academy is right for you is by visiting them and trying out a class or two. This will allow you to experience their level of service and see if consistent training at their academy will fit into your lifestyle.
