The 3S Criteria
With so much information out there about diet and nutrition how do you know the best thing to do or if a new diet will work for you?
This article will cover an easy way to find out if a claims is actually effective and will work for you.
When assessing any claim you should see if it passes the “3S Criteria”. These are three simple checks to make sure a claim is worth investigating further or trying.
The 3S Criteria doesn’t just apply to diet and nutrition, it can be applied to just about any area of your life with great success.
So how do you use the 3S Criteria? All you need to do is put any claim through the following three criteria and see if it passes;
1) Simple.
Is the claim simple and easy to follow? If a claim is not easy to follow then you’re probably not going to stick to it long term. To make any positive change in your life you need to be able to do things consistently.
2) Science-based.
Is the claim based on sound scientific principles? If not why are you even considering them. Nutritional science is continually evolving it’s important to be informed about the latest breakthrough’s.
3) Successful.
Has the claim produced success in others like YOU? What works for a 22 year old man might not work for a 52 year old mother of two. So when making any change in your life style it’s important to find out if it’s worked for people like you.
If any claim doesn’t stand up to these criteria, it’s probably not going to work for you. By applying the 3S Criteria you will be able to change your life, one good decision at a time.
The next time some one makes a bold claim run it through the 3S Criteria. If it fails on even one of the criteria it’s probably not going to work for you.
