Martial Arts Helps With Son’s Dyspraxia and Dysgraphia | Testimonial
Chief and Tom,
I’m not sure if Robert has told you, I suspect not, but he has been diagnosed as being dyspraxic with dysgraphia.
Basically that means anything requiring co-ordination is a struggle as gross and fine motor skills are impaired. There is no cure, it’s just a question of learning to live with it and adjusting when possible.
The consultant we spoke to at the hospital said that the work he’s been doing in his martial arts has really helped develop and improve what could be much more of an issue which could have had a much more serious impact on his current situation and his long term future.
I just wanted to say thank you to you both and all the other Academy staff.
I know it’s taken Robert a long time to get to the level he is now and he’s achieved that through hard work and determination, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the patience and encouragement of the staff, for which we are very grateful.
Best wishes,
Cate Davies
